About the Opportunity

A leading international investment bank is seeking an Associate to join its European Industrials Investment Banking team in Frankfurt. The team advises corporate clients, entrepreneurs and financial sponsors across a broad range of industrial sectors, delivering M&A advisory, strategic corporate finance advice, private capital raising and other complex transaction services throughout the DACH region and wider Europe.

This opportunity is ideally suited to an ambitious investment banking professional looking to gain significant transaction exposure, work on cross-border mandates and develop within a highly respected European advisory platform.

The Role

As an Associate, you will play a key role in executing live transactions while supporting senior bankers on client development and origination initiatives. The position offers substantial responsibility from day one, with exposure to senior corporate executives and private equity investors across multiple industrial sub-sectors.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting the execution of M&A, strategic advisory and capital raising transactions across the Industrials sector.
• Building and reviewing detailed financial models, valuation analyses, merger models and transaction materials.
• Preparing client presentations, pitch books, information memoranda and marketing materials.
• Conducting industry, company and market research to support business development activities.
• Managing due diligence processes and coordinating workstreams with clients, advisors and other stakeholders.
• Working closely with Vice Presidents and Managing Directors on live deal execution and client coverage initiatives.
• Mentoring and supporting Analysts while helping maintain exceptional standards of analytical work.

Candidate Requirements

• 3-5 years of investment banking, M&A advisory or corporate finance experience.
• Experience gained within an investment bank, advisory boutique or corporate finance platform.
• Strong financial modelling, valuation and analytical skills.
• Previous exposure to M&A transactions and deal execution.
• Industrials sector experience is advantageous, including exposure to areas such as industrial technology, transportation & logistics, chemicals, business services, manufacturing or capital goods.
• Ability to work effectively within a demanding and entrepreneurial environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Business or a related discipline.
• Fluent German and English are essential.
