Assistant Vice President, Controller of Finance
Our client, a leading P&C insurance firm, is looking for a hands-on, analytical professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and brings a strong command of GAAP, statutory reporting, and financial operations. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all accounting and financial reporting functions, including GAAP and statutory reporting for P&C insurance operations.
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Manage regulatory filings and compliance with state insurance departments and NAIC requirements.
- Develop and monitor internal controls, risk management procedures, and financial policies.
- Collaborate with actuarial, underwriting, and claims teams to ensure accurate financial forecasting and reserve analysis.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning initiatives.
- Liaise with external auditors, regulators, and tax advisors.
- Mentor and develop finance staff, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA strongly preferred).
- 7+ years of progressive experience in insurance finance, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong understanding of P&C insurance accounting, statutory reporting, and regulatory frameworks.
- Experience with insurance-specific financial systems and ERP platforms.
- Exceptional analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
