Job Overview
Our client is a leading global consulting firm that partners with organizations across the energy, commodities, financial services, and industrial sectors. They advise clients on strategy, risk management, digital transformation, trading operations, and technology initiatives, helping them navigate increasingly complex and evolving markets.
The team is seeking an experienced Manager to support client engagements across commodity and energy trading. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with senior stakeholders on high-impact projects involving trading strategy, risk management, operating model design, technology transformation, and analytics initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Advise clients on commercial trading and hedging strategies, market entry initiatives, and trading organization design.
- Lead assessments of trading capabilities, operating models, business processes, and organizational effectiveness.
- Support the development and execution of trading transformation programs, including business and technology change initiatives.
- Provide guidance on risk management frameworks, regulatory compliance programs, and governance structures.
- Help clients enhance data, analytics, and reporting capabilities to improve commercial decision-making.
- Advise on technology strategy, trading system implementations, vendor evaluations, and platform modernization efforts.
- Manage project workstreams, client relationships, and junior team members across multiple engagements.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across trading, risk, operations, technology, and leadership teams.
Qualifications
- 2-10 years of experience in consulting or industry roles supporting commodity and energy trading businesses.
- Experience within crude oil, refined products, NGLs, petrochemicals, freight, natural gas, or related commodity markets.
- Strong understanding of commodity trading value chains and commercial operations.
- Experience conducting capability assessments, operating model design, and organizational transformation projects.
- Knowledge of risk management frameworks, controls, and regulatory requirements.
- Exposure to business and technology transformation initiatives, including change management programs.
- Experience supporting trading market entry, readiness, or commercial growth initiatives.
- Knowledge of data, analytics, and digital solutions used within trading organizations.
- Familiarity with ETRM/CTRM platforms such as OpenLink, RightAngle, and other leading vendor solutions.
- Strong client-facing communication, project management, and stakeholder management skills.
