Sr. Relationship Manager, Commercial Banking

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively identify and acquire new Medium Market Enterprise (MME) clients across Hong Kong and China, with a strong focus on companies with cross-border operations and growth potential.
  • Lead the full client onboarding process, from initial outreach and needs assessment to deal structuring and execution.
  • Originate and close new business opportunities across lending, trade finance, treasury, and cash management products.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive credit proposals, including financial analysis, risk assessment, and deal justification.
  • Collaborate with internal product teams to deliver tailored financial solutions that meet client-specific needs.
  • Manage the end-to-end sales cycle, including negotiation of terms, documentation, and post-deal servicing.
  • Maintain a small portfolio of strategic clients, ensuring relationship deepening and cross-sell opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, credit standards, and regulatory requirements throughout all client interactions.
  • Represent the bank at industry events, networking functions, and client meetings to enhance visibility and generate leads.
  • Share market insights and contribute to team strategy, while informally mentoring junior bankers and support staff.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Solid experience in commercial or corporate banking, with a strong focus on MME or mid-cap clients.
  • Proven track record in new client acquisition, deal origination, and revenue generation.
  • Strong credit analysis skills and experience in structuring financing solutions.
  • Deep understanding of banking products including loans, trade finance, treasury, and cash management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with fluency in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.
  • Strong negotiation and presentation abilities, with confidence in engaging senior stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with Hong Kong and Mainland China regulatory environments and business practices.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
  • Professional certifications such as CFA, CPA, or ECF are advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Willingness to travel within the region to meet clients and attend industry events.
