Our client is a highly regarded $15bn+ global multi-strategy hedge fund seeking to hire a Software-focused Equity Research Analyst to join its expanding investment team in New York.

Following the recent addition of a highly regarded Lead TMT Analyst, the firm is now investing heavily in building out its technology research capabilities. The Opportunity

The successful candidate will play a key role in researching and analyzing the Software sector, with particular emphasis on a few or all of:

• Enterprise software
• Application software
• Infrastructure software
• Cybersecurity
• Cloud computing and cloud-based software
• SaaS and subscription-based business models
• Data, analytics, and developer tools
• Vertical market software
• Software companies benefiting from evolving technology and AI adoption
• Emerging software platforms and disruptive business models

Working closely with the Lead TMT Analyst and broader equity research team, the individual will help develop investment views across the software universe while contributing to both long and short investment opportunities.

The role offers substantial exposure to senior investors across the platform and the ability to influence capital allocation decisions through differentiated fundamental research.

Candidate Profile

We are interested in speaking with candidates who possess:

• Strong fundamental equity research experience from a buy-side institution
• Deep interest in software, technology, and evolving business models across the sector
• Experience covering software, internet, technology, or adjacent TMT subsectors
• Strong understanding of software business models, competitive dynamics, industry structure, and key operating metrics
• Demonstrated ability to build detailed financial models and conduct rigorous fundamental analysis
• Strong intellectual curiosity and a passion for understanding companies, industries, and evolving technology trends
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate investment views to senior stakeholders
