Senior Medical Economics Analyst
Position Summary
Our client is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Medical Economics Analyst to support our Value-Based Care (VBC) initiatives. This role will be instrumental in evaluating financial performance, building data-driven models, and generating insights that inform strategic decisions across our healthcare delivery and payment models.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze healthcare cost and utilization data to assess the financial impact of VBC programs.
- Develop and maintain SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze large datasets, including healthcare claims data from payers and providers.
- Build and optimize financial models to evaluate provider performance, risk adjustment, and shared savings opportunities.
- Design and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI to communicate insights to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with clinical, actuarial, and operations teams to support VBC strategy and execution.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and trends in population health, cost containment, and quality metrics.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Economics, Actuarial Science, Finance, Health Informatics, Data Science, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in healthcare analytics, medical economics, or financial modeling.
- Strong proficiency in SQL for data querying and manipulation.
- Experience with Power BI or similar BI tools for dashboard development and data visualization.
- Solid understanding of value-based care models, including risk adjustment, capitation, and shared savings.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial modeling techniques.
- Proven experience working with healthcare claims data, including medical, pharmacy, and eligibility files.
