Senior Database Administrator (DBA)
We are seeking an experienced Senior Database Administrator to join a Global DBA Engineering Team for an urgent 3‑month mission. The consultant will contribute to engineering initiatives, cloud transformation projects, and operational database support across EMEA. This role involves working on high‑availability environments, automation workflows, and database migration activities while ensuring continuity, reliability, and performance of critical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Work within a global DBA engineering team to design, implement, and enhance database infrastructure solutions.
- Support the organisation's public cloud transition, with a strong focus on AWS‑based deployments and migration activities.
- Develop and maintain automation frameworks including auto‑healing, replication processes, and operational dashboards.
- Manage replication and high‑availability solutions including Dataguard, GoldenGate, and Oracle RAC.
- Oversee database backup, cloning, and migration operations using RMAN and Datapump.
- Provide operational support for Oracle and SQL database environments (incident management, change execution, migration tasks, DRP activities).
- Troubleshoot complex database issues, ensuring timely resolution and long‑term stability improvements.
- Participate in on‑call rotations as part of the global support model.
Technical Environment
- Oracle Database Administration (5+ years, senior level).
- Strong hands‑on experience with Oracle RAC, Dataguard, GoldenGate, RMAN, Datapump.
- Exposure to SQL Server, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, or Hadoop considered a plus.
- Advanced knowledge of AWS cloud services and cloud‑migration methodologies.
- Linux systems (Red Hat) administration competence.
- Monitoring tools such as OEM, Sitescope, Prometheus, Dynatrace.
- Strong scripting and automation abilities: Python, Java, PowerShell, Terraform.
- CI/CD experience with Ansible, AWX, and similar tools.
