Private Equity Associate
We are seeking a highly motivated Private Equity Associate to join a clients investment team. The Associate will play an integral role in evaluating new investment opportunities, executing transactions, supporting portfolio companies, and conducting industry research. This position offers direct exposure to senior investment professionals and company management teams while providing meaningful responsibility throughout the investment lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Investment Evaluation & Execution
- Analyze prospective investment opportunities across targeted sectors.
- Build and maintain detailed financial models, including LBO, operating, valuation, and sensitivity analyses.
- Conduct industry research, market mapping, and competitive assessments.
- Assist with due diligence efforts, including coordinating third-party advisors and reviewing diligence findings.
- Prepare investment memoranda, presentations, and supporting materials for Investment Committee meetings.
- Participate in transaction negotiations and financing processes.
Portfolio Company Support
- Monitor portfolio company financial performance and key operating metrics.
- Assist management teams and operating partners with strategic initiatives and value creation opportunities.
- Support mergers and acquisitions, add-on acquisitions, and recapitalization transactions.
- Prepare board materials and participate in portfolio company meetings.
Origination & Research
- Track industry trends and identify attractive investment themes.
- Develop relationships with investment banks, intermediaries, executives, and advisors.
- Assist with sourcing and screening new investment opportunities.
- Maintain pipeline and CRM tracking systems.
Qualifications
Required
- 2-3 years of investment banking experience, preferably in M&A, leveraged finance, industry coverage, or financial sponsors.
- Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical capabilities.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of professionalism, intellectual curiosity, and attention to detail.
