Operations Specialist | Chinese Investment Bank
Our client is a leading chinese investment banking firm who are looking to add further headcount to their operations team.
This role is responsible for supporting daily collateral operations, ensuring accurate and timely margin processes, and maintaining strong internal controls. The position requires close coordination with internal teams and external stakeholders to manage risk exposure and ensure compliance with regulatory and contractual obligations.
What does the role involve?
- Execute daily margining activities in line with legal agreements (e.g., CSAs, GMRAs), including issuing and responding to margin calls.
- Manage collateral movements involving both cash and securities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements such as uncleared margin rules.
- Perform portfolio and exposure reconciliations, investigate breaks, and resolve disputes with counterparties and custodians.
- Collaborate with internal teams (Middle Office, Risk, Trading) to address trade discrepancies and ensure accurate mark-to-market exposure.
- Maintain and validate exposure data in internal systems, and respond to internal stakeholder queries with timely reporting.
- Support the development and enhancement of margin infrastructure, including system improvements and operational control design.
- Update procedures in response to regulatory changes and participate in projects to streamline workflows and reduce operational risk.
What experience do you need?
- Minimum 5 years of experience in collateral management or a related operations role
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field
- Strong understanding of OTC derivatives and repo products, including end-to-end processing
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Fluent in English and Mandarin (spoken and written)
