Operational Risk Manager (all genders)

The role focuses on the oversight and
challenge of operational and technology‑related risks within a regulated banking environment.
Position: Operational Risk Manager (all genders)
Location: Frankfurt (hybrid)
Estimated Salary: 100.000€-120.000€* + 25% bonus on top
Languages: fluent German (C1+) & English (B1+)
Key Responsibilities
* Full accountability for the operational risk framework lifecycle, including independent second line
review and challenge across all operational risk categories
* Independent aggregation and challenge of ICT-related operational risks in coordination with
Information Security and Business Continuity functions
* Assessment of technology-driven operational impacts, including system outages, failed IT changes,
process failures, data availability issues, and outsourcing-related disruptions
* Ensuring ICT-related risks are consistently reflected in RCSA, operational risk reporting, and issue and
remediation management
* Oversight of operational loss events and issues, including ICT-related incidents, covering classification,
escalation, root-cause analysis, and remediation
* Planning, execution, and continuous improvement of the annual Risk Control Self-Assessment (RCSA)
process in close collaboration with business units
* Coordination and execution of scenario analyses to support regulatory capital and economic
capital requirements
* Preparation of management reporting and participation in governance committees, projects, and
working groups
* Data quality assurance and independent review and challenge of operational risk and ICT-related risk
data
* Ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory frameworks, including MaRisk, CRR/KWG, Basel
operational risk principles, and DORA from an operational risk integration perspective
* Promotion of risk awareness and support of training initiatives to strengthen risk culture across the
organisation
Profile Requirements
* The legal right to work and live in Germany, without visa sponsorship
* Excellent communication skills in English (B1+) and German (C1+)
* Several years experience in operational risk or business continuity
* Profound knowledge of regulatory frameworks including MaRisk, CRR, KWG, and DORA/BAIT from an
operational risk integration perspective
* Hands‑on experience with RCSA processes, scenario analysis, and capital calculations
* Expert with regulatory frameworks such as MaRisk, BAIT, and DORA
* Strong organizational and communication skills
* Experience in supporting and training business units
* High attention to detail and accuracy in control activities
* Strong understanding of operational processes and IT‑related dependencies
