Job Title: Middle Office Analyst

Location: Stamford, CT (on-site)

Salary: $110k-$140k + bonus

Summary:

This role offers an excellent opportunity to join the Operations team at a leading global commodities shop, where you'll support multiple trading desks and help strengthen end‑to‑end operational workflows. Working closely with traders you'll streamline processes, enhance data quality, and implement tools that improve efficiency across physical and financial commodity markets. The ideal candidate has experience in commodities trading environments and a demonstrated ability to navigate complex operational challenges, manage diverse market dependencies, and deliver scalable, practical solutions that support front‑office performance.

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Manage daily P&L and position reporting for Power & Gas markets, including trade reconciliation, position validation, and curve integrity checks.
  • Deliver daily commentary on P&L drivers and performed in‑depth analysis of key positions, risk exposures, and valuation inputs across Futures, Options, and Physical products.
  • Act as a central liaison between trading desks, ISOs, FCMs, and cross‑functional teams to resolve issues and ensure accuracy throughout the trade lifecycle.
  • Oversee static data setup and maintained alignment across internal systems, external counterparties, and third‑party market data providers.
  • Lead and contributed to process improvement initiatives focused on strengthening controls, optimizing workflows, and enhancing overall risk and data governance.

The ideal candidate should have the following qualifications and skills:

  • 3-6 years of experience in a commodities trading environment
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a quantitative discipline, or equivalent practical exposure.
  • Knowledge of Power and Gas is preferred
  • Proficient in Excel; working knowledge of VBA, python or SQL is ideal
