A leading international investment organization is seeking an Fund Controller to join its Amsterdam-based accounting and reporting team. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment focused on real estate funds, joint ventures, and separate accounts across the EMEA region.
You'll be part of a collaborative finance team, reporting to the Director of Fund Accounting, and working closely with internal stakeholders and external clients. The position plays a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, tax compliance, and liquidity planning, while also contributing to process improvements and system implementations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the production of period-end reports, including annual and quarterly financial statements
- Consolidate financial data and perform analytical reviews
- Prepare income statements, balance sheets, and other accounting reports
- Partner daily with senior fund controllers and communicate extensively with clients
- Support client reporting requests and regulatory filings
- Manage bank and intercompany reconciliations and liquidity forecasts
- Handle VAT declarations and support corporate income tax processes
- Contribute to fund audits, regulatory reporting, and internal control reviews (e.g., SOC1)
- Participate in financial systems design and implementation
- Support project-based and ad hoc financial tasks
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- 5+ years of relevant experience, ideally within financial services or a Big 4 firm
- Practical experience with consolidation and tax reporting (VAT and CIT)
- Familiarity with financial ratios related to real estate investments is preferred
- Strong understanding of IFRS and general accounting principles
- Experience with financial reporting and audit processes
- Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and a strong team player
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; experience with Workiva is a plus
- Fluent in English and Dutch
