Endpoint engineer
The role
We're supporting a leading trading firm in Amsterdam as they continue to scale their internal technology environment.
As an Endpoint Engineer, you'll play a key role in designing, securing, and automating the firm's end‑user compute environment in a highly performance‑driven, security‑sensitive setting.
This is an engineering‑focused role, not traditional IT support.
You'll work closely with Infrastructure, Security, and Trading Technology teams to ensure that laptops and workstations used by traders, engineers, and researchers are reliable, secure, and friction‑free.
What you'll do
- Own the engineering and life cycle management of Windows (and some macOS) endpoints across the firm
- Design and maintain zero‑touch provisioning and deployment workflows
- Build and enforce security baselines, patching strategies, and compliance controls
- Automate endpoint configuration and maintenance using scripting and modern tooling
- Partner with Security on EDR, encryption, hardening, and incident response
- Improve device performance, stability, and usability for latency‑sensitive teams
- Act as a senior technical point of contact for endpoint‑related architecture decisions
Tech environment
- Windows (primary), macOS (secondary)
- Microsoft Intune / Endpoint Manager, Autopilot, Azure AD (Entra ID)
- Power Shell (strong focus on automation)
- Endpoint security tooling (EDR, disk encryption, device compliance)
- Cloud‑first, security‑led infrastructure
What we're looking for
- 5+ year's experience in Endpoint Engineering, Workplace Engineering, or EUC roles
- Strong hands‑on experience with Windows endpoint management at scale
- Excellent Power Shell scripting and automation mindset
- Experience working in regulated or high‑security environments (trading, fintech, banking, tech at scale)
- Strong understanding of endpoint security, patching, and compliance
- Comfortable operating as an engineer - building platforms and standards, not firefighting tickets
Nice to have
- macOS / Jamf exposure
- Experience working alongside trading, quant, or low‑latency teams
- Background in financial services, fintech, or similarly performance‑critical environments
Why join
- Work in a top‑tier trading environment with strong engineering culture
- High ownership and technical impact
- Competitive compensation and benefits
- Amsterdam‑based role with modern hybrid flexibility
