Distressed Debt Senior Analyst
Our client, a top-performing credit investment platform, is seeking a talented Distressed Debt Investor to join their team. This individual will play a key role in sourcing, evaluating, and managing investments across stressed, distressed, special situations, and restructuring-driven opportunities.
Ideal candidates will come from:
- A buyside credit fund (distressed, special sits, opportunistic credit, or hybrid credit strategies)
- A top restructuring group within an investment bank
- A restructuring advisory practice with strong financial modeling and transaction experience
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support underwriting of distressed and special situations investments across the capital structure
- Conduct deep-dive fundamental credit analysis, modeling, scenario work, and recovery analysis
- Engage with management teams, advisors, and other stakeholders during restructuring processes
- Monitor portfolio positions, assess catalysts, and drive ongoing investment theses
- Participate in investment committee discussions and contribute to conviction-building
Qualifications
- 3-8 years of relevant experience in distressed debt, restructuring, credit investing, or special situations
- Strong financial modeling skills (LBO, credit models, restructuring waterfalls, sensitivities)
- Proven experience evaluating complex capital structures and event‑driven situations
- Ability to think independently, articulate investment theses, and operate in a fast‑moving environment
- Humble, team‑oriented, and highly analytical mindset
