Director, Investment Product Development
Overview:
A leading alternative asset manager is seeking a Director, Product Solutions to join its product strategy and development team. This individual will play a key role in designing, structuring, and launching new investment vehicles while helping manage and enhance the firm's existing product platform. The position offers significant exposure to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development, structuring, and execution of new investment products and strategic product initiatives.
- Drive product launch efforts from concept through implementation, coordinating across legal, compliance, tax, operations, fund accounting, and investor-facing teams.
- Partner with senior management to evaluate and expand the firm's product offerings and long-term product strategy.
- Design enhancements, extensions, and new variations of existing investment vehicles.
- Support negotiations and commercial discussions related to separately managed accounts and customized client solutions.
- Develop and maintain financial models to assess the economics and viability of proposed products and structures.
- Build strong relationships with internal business leaders and external strategic partners.
- Prepare executive-level analyses and recommendations to support key business decisions.
- Monitor industry developments, competitive trends, and evolving investor demand to identify new product opportunities.
- Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering best practices in financial analysis, modeling, and presentation development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA and/or CFA preferred.
- Approximately 10+ years of experience in product development, product strategy, consulting, investment management, or private equity.
- Demonstrated track record launching and managing investment products, ideally within private credit or alternative investments.
- Strong understanding of investment vehicle structuring and product lifecycle management.
- Advanced financial modeling and quantitative analysis capabilities.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to distill complex topics for senior stakeholders.
- Highly organized with strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Collaborative mindset with experience working across multiple business functions and leadership teams.
