Catastrophe Risk Analyst Reinsurance
Selby Jennings are partnering with a leading broker within a specialist catastrophe analytics team and offers the opportunity to work on complex reinsurance and insurance portfolios, helping organisations better understand and manage their exposure to natural catastrophe risk. Rather than focusing solely on model production, the position combines technical analysis with stakeholder engagement, providing broad exposure to portfolio management, risk strategy, and reinsurance decision-making.
The successful hire will work closely with a range of stakeholders across analytics, broking, underwriting, and actuarial functions, supporting the assessment of catastrophe risk and translating model outputs into actionable business insight. The role will involve analysing portfolio exposures, evaluating reinsurance structures, contributing to discussions around emerging risk themes, and helping clients make informed risk management decisions.
Role Requirements:
- Experience within catastrophe modelling, catastrophe analytics, exposure management, or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of catastrophe models and the interpretation of model outputs.
- Experience working with insurers, reinsurers, brokers, or other financial services organisations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to work with large datasets.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to a variety of stakeholders.
- Experience using analytical and programming tools such as SQL, Python, R, Tableau, or Power BI would be advantageous.
