Business Development Analyst
A high-growth specialty finance platform focused on providing structured capital solutions to emerging consumer brands is seeking a Business Development Analyst to support its expanding origination team. The firm partners with founder-led businesses across sectors such as food & beverage, apparel, and beauty, delivering tailored financing to help drive working capital efficiency and long-term growth.
This is a front-office oriented role designed for an early-career professional looking to build a foundation in credit, underwriting, and deal origination. The position offers direct exposure to live transactions, including financial analysis, client interaction, and participation in the full deal lifecycle, with a clear path toward owning relationships and revenue generation over time.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and track deal pipeline activity through CRM systems (Salesforce), ensuring data accuracy and visibility into origination efforts
- Support outbound business development through research, outreach coordination, and engagement with prospective clients and partners
- Participate in client calls and meetings with founders, investors, and operators across the consumer ecosystem
- Assist in evaluating new opportunities through financial analysis, including review of income statements, balance sheets, cash flow, inventory, and accounts receivable
- Help prepare credit materials, internal memos, and presentations to support underwriting and investment decisions
- Coordinate scheduling and logistics for business development initiatives and deal-related discussions
- Contribute to refining internal processes, reporting, and workflows to improve team efficiency
- Build a strong understanding of the firm's target market, credit strategy, and structuring approach
- Gradually take ownership of sourcing efforts, developing a pipeline of qualified opportunities over time
Candidate Profile
- 1-3 years of experience in investment banking, private credit, commercial banking, financial analysis, or business development within financial services
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field
- Strong financial acumen, including the ability to analyze and interpret company financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)
- Experience with financial modeling or credit analysis isstrongly preferred
- Familiarity with CRM tools (Salesforce or similar) and strong organizational skills
- Clear communicator, comfortable interfacing with clients and senior stakeholders
- Detail-oriented, with an ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Interest in building a client-facing career in origination, lending, or structured finance
- Exposure to consumer, retail, or CPG sectors is a plus
