Position: Assistant Actuary - Modeling
Location: Remote or Hybrid (depending on proximity to an office)

A prominent financial services organization is seeking an experienced and driven Assistant Actuary - Modeling to join its Corporate Actuarial team. This role is ideal for a results-oriented professional with advanced actuarial modeling expertise and a strong understanding of industry standards and practices.

As a key contributor, the Assistant Actuary will lead model development efforts, support strategic risk management, and provide insights that drive sound business decisions. The position also plays a vital role in shaping project initiatives and enhancing business processes across the actuarial function.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading the development and testing of Prophet models across various product lines, while ensuring compliance with model risk management policies and coding standards
  • Running and analyzing recurring model applications such as Asset Liability Management, ORSA compliance, Cash Flow Testing, Liquidity Testing, and Financial Forecasting
  • Documenting modeling decisions, processes, and methodologies to ensure transparency and consistency
  • Conducting stress testing and scenario analysis to support strategic planning
  • Compiling and interpreting data using actuarial techniques and statistical methods
  • Maintaining and validating actuarial models for designated purposes
  • Implementing procedures to meet regulatory and governance requirements
  • Responding to internal and external requests for actuarial analysis and insights
  • Mentoring junior actuarial staff and collaborating with cross-functional teams on business initiatives

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 2-4+ years of actuarial modeling experience, ideally with indexed life and/or annuity products with living benefits
  • Strong proficiency in Prophet software preferred
  • Associate or Fellow of the Society of Actuaries; Member of the American Academy of Actuaries
  • Advanced understanding of insurance products, actuarial theory, and industry regulations
  • Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong documentation and communication abilities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
