Actuary, Modeling
A rapidly growing life insurance and annuity reinsurance company is seeking a Modeling Actuary to join its actuarial team. This role will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing actuarial models that support valuation, financial reporting, forecasting, and asset-liability management initiatives. The position offers significant visibility across the organization and the opportunity to work alongside experienced leaders in a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance actuarial models supporting valuation and projection activities.
- Build and maintain AXIS models for fixed and indexed annuity products.
- Support model governance, validation, testing, and change management processes.
- Analyze model outputs and explain impacts on reserves, earnings, and financial results.
- Partner with valuation, finance, risk management, and technology teams to ensure model integrity and consistency across reporting frameworks.
- Assist with assumption updates, methodology enhancements, and new product implementations.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation and process enhancements.
Qualifications
- ASA or FSA designation preferred.
- Several years of actuarial experience within life insurance or annuities.
- Strong actuarial modeling experience, including AXIS.
- Experience supporting valuation, forecasting, financial reporting, or ALM functions.
- Knowledge of fixed and indexed annuity products.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
