VP - Reinsurance Accounting Lead
Position Overview
Provide leadership over reinsurance operations and financial activities, ensuring accurate reporting, effective risk transfer, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee administration of reinsurance agreements from placement through settlement
- Partner with senior leaders to support reinsurance strategy and execution
- Collaborate with actuarial, finance, claims, systems, and sourcing teams
- Deliver accurate ceded reinsurance results for all close cycles
- Maintain internal controls over reinsurance accounting, billing, and collections
- Review balances, approve complex transactions, and explain performance results
- Manage recoverables, premium payments, and aging balances
- Lead and develop a team; maintain documentation and audit readiness
- Serve as a primary contact for reinsurers and brokers
- Support cross‑functional initiatives and special projects
Qualifications & Experience
- Extensive insurance experience with a focus on reinsurance operations
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- Strong knowledge of treaty and facultative reinsurance structures
- Solid understanding of insurance accounting and financial reporting
- Proven people leadership and senior‑level communication skills
- Advanced analytical and spreadsheet capabilities
