E&S Underwriter
Location: Southern California (Hybrid)
I'm partnering with a leading specialty carrier to identify a Senior E&S P&C Underwriter to join their growing team in Southern California. This is a high-impact role focused on underwriting complex commercial lines risks within the Excess & Surplus (E&S) marketplace.
What You'll Do
- Underwrite and grow a profitable book of E&S commercial P&C business (multi-line, including GL, property, excess, and specialty risks)
- Evaluate complex submissions, determine pricing/terms, and structure deals across diverse industries
- Build and maintain strong relationships with wholesale brokers and distribution partners
- Identify new production opportunities and actively contribute to territory strategy
- Collaborate with claims, actuarial, and leadership to optimize portfolio performance
What We're Looking For
- 5-10+ years of E&S underwriting experience in commercial P&C lines
- Strong technical expertise in risk analysis, pricing, and contract structuring
- Established broker relationships within the Southern California market
- Proven track record of profitability and book growth
- Ability to operate autonomously while contributing to a collaborative team
