Trade Operations
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate coal shipments from load port to discharge port.
- Liaise with counterparties, shipping agents, surveyors, and port authorities.
- Monitor vessel schedules and ensure timely cargo delivery.
- End-to-end LC operations from drafting, negotiating, presenting, discounting and etc.
- Track LC expiry dates, amendments, and payment timelines.
- Handle laytime calculations.
- Maintain laytime records for internal performance tracking and reporting.
- Collaborate with shipping and trading teams to validate laytime data.
- Ensure all trade documentation complies with contractual and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate records in trade management systems.
- Coordinate with legal and compliance teams on sanctions, KYC, and regulatory checks.
- Work closely with traders, finance, legal, and risk teams to support trade lifecycle.
- Communicate with suppliers, customers, and service providers to resolve operational issues.
- Update trade execution status in internal systems
- Generate operational reports including shipment tracking, LC status, and laytime KPIs.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in commodity trading operations, preferably in coal or dry bulk (open to other commodities products)
- Strong knowledge of LC operations and UCP 600.
- Proficient in laytime calculation.
- Familiarity with Incoterms, charter party terms, and international shipping.
- Excellent attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and trade management systems.
