System and Networking Specialist (HFT)
Our client, a global leader in institutional liquidity and digital assets, is seeking a systems and networking specialist with deep expertise in High Frequency Trading. In this role, you will own the end‑to‑end optimisation of a globally distributed, ultra‑low‑latency trading stack, spanning hardware, networking, and operating systems. This is a high‑impact position where your work will directly shape execution speed, determinism, and reliability across a world‑class crypto exchange platform.
The ideal profile will come from a high‑frequency trading environment, with strong Linux fundamentals, an automation‑first mindset, and hands‑on experience with performance‑critical infrastructure. You will be highly execution‑focused, comfortable operating close to the metal, and driven by extracting microsecond‑level performance gains that materially impact desk‑level trading outcomes.
Responsibilities:
* Low‑latency Infrastructure Build: Design and deploy HFT‑grade infrastructure optimised for ultra‑low‑latency connectivity to crypto exchanges and internal systems
* Hybrid Cloud Optimisation: Optimise performance across AWS environments and physical hardware in colocation data centres
* System Performance Tuning: Apply deep Linux kernel and OS‑level optimisations to reduce jitter and maximise determinism
* Network Automation: Build zero‑touch deployment pipelines using Terraform and Ansible for reproducible, reliable infrastructure
* Precision Monitoring: Implement microsecond‑level observability to track latency, packet loss, jitter, and retransmissions
Requirements:
* Low‑Latency DNA: Proven experience in HFT or ultra‑low‑latency environments where microseconds are critical
* Linux Mastery: Strong knowledge of system internals including CPU pinning, NUMA, kernel bypass, and profiling
* Advanced Networking: Deep understanding of BGP, multicast, and AWS networking primitives
* Automation‑First Mindset: Proficiency in Python/Bash and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) for global deployments
* Hardware Savvy: Hands‑on experience with high‑performance NICs, low‑latency switches (Arista/Cisco), and data centre environments
