About the Opportunity
We're partnering with a growing MGA focused on the Excess & Surplus market, seeking a Senior E&S Property Underwriter to support continued expansion across the Southeast. This role is ideal for a strong individual contributor who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about underwriting complex property risks.
Key Responsibilities
- Underwrite and manage a portfolio of E&S Property risks, ensuring profitability and adherence to guidelines
- Evaluate, price, and structure new and renewal business across a wide range of industries and exposures
- Build and maintain strong relationships with wholesale brokers and agency partners
- Analyze risk characteristics including CAT exposure, loss history, and coverage structure
- Contribute to growth initiatives by identifying new business opportunities within the Southeast region
- Collaborate with internal teams on underwriting strategy, reporting, and portfolio performance
- Stay informed on market trends, competition, and regulatory considerations impacting the E&S space
Qualifications
- 4+ years of E&S Property underwriting experience
- Solid understanding of underwriting principles, pricing, and risk selection in the non-admitted market
- Demonstrated ability to manage a profitable book of business
- Existing relationships with brokers in the Southeast region strongly preferred
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and make sound underwriting decisions
- Bachelor's degree required; industry designations (CPCU, AU) a plus
