Senior Fund Accountant - USD 2 billion AUM

Our client is a growing buy-side investment management platform focused on alternative investments. Due to business expansion, they are seeking a Finance Manager to strengthen their finance function and support the firm's continued growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily finance and accounting operations for investment funds and management companies.
  • Review NAV calculations, fund accounting reports, and investor reporting prepared by fund administrators.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with HKFRS/IFRS.
  • Manage month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, fund administrators, custodians, and regulatory bodies.
  • Monitor fund expenses, management fees, performance fees, and investment transactions.
  • Support regulatory and compliance-related financial reporting requirements.
  • Prepare management reports and financial analysis for senior management.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and strategic planning.
  • Ensure strong internal controls and compliance with accounting policies.
  • Participate in process enhancement initiatives and system implementation projects.
  • Support fundraising activities, investor due diligence, and ad-hoc projects as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Professional accounting qualification (HKICPA, CPA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent).
  • 8-12 years of relevant experience with a strong focus on fund accounting and fund finance.
  • Currently working as a Finance Manager, Assistant Finance Manager, Fund Accounting Manager, Assistant Vice President (Fund Accounting), or Senior Fund Accountant.
  • Hands-on experience with fund accounting, NAV review, financial reporting, fund audits, and oversight of third-party fund administrators.
  • Experience gained from asset managers, hedge funds, private equity firms, family offices, or leading fund administrators (e.g., Citco, SS&C, Apex, Alter Domus, IQ-EQ, Maples).
  • Strong understanding of investment products, fund structures, investor reporting, capital activities, and alternative investments.
  • Proficient in IFRS/HKFRS and financial reporting standards.
  • Fluent in English and Mandarin.
