Senior Financial Institutions Credit Risk Analyst
A leading financial institution is seeking a Senior Credit Analyst to join its team focused on depository institutions. This role will lead efforts to measure, monitor, and analyze credit risk exposure across a diverse membership base of banks and credit unions. The analyst will apply advanced financial modeling and statistical techniques to support lending decisions and risk rating processes, while serving as a key liaison across internal departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team responsible for analyzing historical trends and external factors impacting credit risk.
- Develop and maintain sophisticated credit risk models, including probability of default and benchmark studies.
- Provide recommendations on lending decisions for high-impact financial institutions.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support credit initiatives and policy development.
- Monitor economic and regulatory developments and assess their impact on borrowers.
- Interface with external stakeholders including member institutions and regulatory bodies.
- Prepare and present credit risk assessments to senior leadership and the board.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field; MBA or Master's preferred.
- 2-5 years of experience in credit analysis, banking, or institutional underwriting.
- Strong analytical skills and experience with large data sets.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office; experience with Tableau, VBA, R, S&P CapIQ, and Bloomberg is a plus.
- Self-directed, team-oriented, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
