We are currently working with a leading buy-side investment firm in London that is scaling its Risk Technology Platform and looking to hire a Senior Backend Engineer into a highly impactful engineering team.
This is not a legacy application support role. The team is building and evolving a unified data API platform that powers risk, analytics, and decision-making across the business. You'll be working on large-scale data infrastructure, distributed systems, and high-performance backend services used by some of the firm's most critical functions.
What you'll be working on:
- Building scalable backend platforms in C#/.NET
- Designing and enhancing a firm-wide unified data API serving risk and analytics teams
- Developing systems that process and distribute large volumes of data with high reliability and performance requirements
- Working closely with Risk, Data Engineering, and Infrastructure teams on business-critical projects
- Driving engineering best practices, architecture decisions, and platform scalability
Ideal background:
- Strong backend engineering experience in C# or Java (candidates from Java backgrounds are welcome, provided they're happy to transition to C#)
- Experience building data-intensive platforms and distributed systems
- Hands-on experience with ClickHouse, Snowflake, or similar modern data technologies
- Previous experience within financial services is essential
- Exposure to Risk Technology, Risk Analytics, Market Risk, Counterparty Risk, PnL, Regulatory Reporting, or related financial data platforms
