Selby Jennings is partnering with a leading financial services organization to support the search for a skilled Fund Accountant to join their Institutional Client Services division. This permanent, hybrid-role opportunity offers the chance to work within a collaborative Fund Services team responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of private equity and real estate clients. The ideal professional will take ownership of a designated client portfolio, ensuring accurate accounting, compliant reporting, and high‑quality investor servicing. Working closely with a Manager or Senior Manager, this individual will play a key role in day‑to‑day fund operations while maintaining a strong understanding of each client's structure, risks, and obligations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily investor servicing, onboarding activities, and core accounting functions for private equity and real estate investment vehicles.
  • Record and maintain general ledger entries across investor, fund, and investment levels.
  • Review subscription materials and ensure all onboarding follows established AML/KYC standards.
  • Manage routine cash flows, including wires, bank reconciliations, and liquidity monitoring.
  • Prepare and validate quarterly reporting packages, inclusive of allocation calculations and performance data.
  • Contribute to the development and training of junior team members by offering guidance and oversight.
  • Draft and review financial statements under US GAAP and prepare corresponding partner capital statements.
  • Interpret fund governing documents to accurately apply waterfall models, fee structures, and allocation rules.
  • Produce and verify capital call notices, distribution notices, and other investor communications.
  • Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits, ensuring timely delivery of supporting documentation.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, addressing routine matters and resolving ad‑hoc inquiries.
  • Participate in ongoing process and technology reviews to identify operational improvements and support system enhancements.
  • Manage personal billing cycle, monitor receivables, and work efficiently to minimize non-recoverable time.
  • Follow all regulatory and internal compliance guidelines, including AML standards and risk management procedures.
  • Maintain continuing professional development based on role requirements and internal expectations.
  • Support broader team needs by taking on additional responsibilities as assigned.


Qualifications

  • At least two years of experience in private equity accounting or fund administration.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, ideally in accounting, finance, economics, business, mathematics, or a related discipline.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent organizational abilities and clear, professional communication skills.
  • High attention to detail, strong analytical thinking, and proven problem‑solving capability.
