Senior Accountant

A large, well‑established non‑profit healthcare system on Florida's Gulf Coast is seeking an experienced accounting professional to support corporate and departmental financial reporting, analysis, and reconciliation activities. This role offers strong exposure to healthcare finance, budgeting, audits, and regulatory reporting within a mission‑driven organization.

What You'll Do

  • Prepare, review, and analyze corporate and departmental financial statements and general ledger activity
  • Perform monthly variance analysis of revenues and expenses versus budget and prior year
  • Complete balance sheet and other account reconciliations with a high level of accuracy
  • Assist with consolidated financial reporting, unit‑level financials, fund reporting, and intercompany eliminations (as applicable)
  • Support the annual budget process and year‑end audit activities
  • Prepare financial reports and schedules required for regulatory and internal stakeholders
  • Perform special financial analyses and support ad hoc reporting requests
  • Assist with foundation‑related accounting processes, including Accounts Payable
  • Work collaboratively with finance and operational teams across the organization

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 3+ years of accounting experience, ideally within healthcare and/or non‑profit environments
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, reconciliations, and general ledger accounting

Preferred:

  • Healthcare or fund accounting experience
  • Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with financial systems (PeopleSoft a plus)
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, and audit processes
  • Ability to work independently while also being a strong team contributor
