NLP Data Scientist
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain NLP pipelines to extract investment-relevant events and signals from large-scale unstructured text sources (e.g., news articles, earnings reports, regulatory filings).
- Design analytical frameworks and data models to support both quantitative and qualitative investment research.
- Leverage cloud-native technologies (AWS preferred) for scalable data processing and orchestration.
- Collaborate with investment professionals to define event taxonomies and align NLP outputs with business needs.
- Conduct exploratory data analysis and feature engineering to enhance predictive modeling and portfolio strategies.
- Ensure reproducibility, data integrity, and high-quality code throughout the development lifecycle.
- Communicate findings and methodologies effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Must-Have Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in data science, with a strong focus on NLP.
- Proven expertise in event extraction from textual data using both rule-based and machine learning approaches.
- Advanced proficiency in Python and solid command of SQL.
- Hands-on experience with AWS or similar cloud platforms in analytics or data engineering.
- Strong understanding of supervised and unsupervised learning methods.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
