Global Equity Strategy Analyst - Equity Research
Role
- Conduct macro, equity, and cross-asset strategy research covering overseas markets including Hong Kong, the US, and other major global markets, with a focus on implications for Chinese and Asian investors.
- Analyse global economic trends, monetary and fiscal policy, geopolitical developments, and market liquidity to form actionable investment views.
- Produce regular strategy reports, thematic studies, and ad-hoc commentary to support institutional clients, sales teams, and internal stakeholders.
- Work closely with sales, trading, and corporate finance teams to translate research insights into marketable ideas and client solutions.
- Monitor global asset allocation flows and investor behaviour across equities, FX, rates, and commodities.
- Support overseas roadshows, client meetings, and marketing events by preparing presentation materials and delivering research insights when required.
- Maintain proprietary models, databases, and analytical frameworks to support medium- to long-term strategy views.
- Coordinate with China and onshore research teams to align global perspectives with domestic market dynamics.
- Contribute to the firm's overall research franchise and brand positioning in international markets.
- Ensure research outputs meet internal governance, compliance, and regulatory standards.
Requirements
- Strong experience in strategy research, macro research, or cross-asset analysis within a sell-side institution, asset manager, or related financial institution.
- Solid understanding of global financial markets, particularly Hong Kong and US markets, and their interaction with China and Asia.
- Strong analytical capability in macroeconomics, asset allocation, valuation, and market risk assessment.
- Proven experience producing high-quality written research and delivering clear investment messages to professional audiences.
- Ability to synthesize complex global developments into concise, actionable insights under tight deadlines.
- Strong collaboration skills and experience working with sales, trading, and investment banking teams.
- High level of intellectual curiosity, independence, and commercial awareness.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Mandarin proficiency strongly preferred.
- Strong data handling and presentation skills; familiarity with Bloomberg, Excel, and research tools required.
- Bachelor's degree or above in economics, finance, or a related discipline; CFA or equivalent qualification preferred.
