FIG Senior Credit Officer
Division Overview:
The Risk Management division supports the sustainable growth of the organization by applying deep expertise in risk analysis and management. Its mission is to independently assess, monitor, and manage risk-taking activities to ensure optimal outcomes in collaboration with the first line of defense. The division oversees a broad spectrum of risks, including enterprise, strategic, credit, market, liquidity, operational, and model risks across corporate and investment banking activities.
Within this division, the Credit Risk team is responsible for managing credit exposures related to corporate entities, financial institutions, sovereigns, and country risk. The team sets credit policies in coordination with executive leadership and business lines, defining criteria for credit acceptability and exposure limits.
Position Summary:
The team is seeking a seasoned credit risk professional with extensive experience in approving and managing credit lines for lending and derivative exposures. The role includes oversight of collateral performance and risk monitoring across a diverse portfolio of financial institutions and sponsor-backed entities.
Key Areas of Coverage:
- Banks, non-bank financial institutions, and insurance companies
- Private equity vehicles and fund financing (e.g., subscription lines)
- Specialty finance firms, including business development companies (BDCs) and real estate investment trusts (REITs)
- Portfolio financing across asset classes (e.g., private credit, auto, consumer finance)
- Derivative and hedging exposures related to the above entities
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in risk management within financial services, with a focus on Financial Sponsors and structured/warehouse lending
- Deep understanding of credit risk and its impact on Financial Sponsors and Private Equity
- Strong knowledge of U.S. market dynamics and regulatory frameworks
- Proven analytical and judgment skills with the ability to evaluate complex transactions
- Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities and ability to work independently
- Strong multitasking and project management skills
- Effective collaboration with cross-functional teams including legal, compliance, and business units
- Results-oriented with strategic decision-making capabilities
- Excellent written communication skills in English; French proficiency is a plus
- Ability to perform under pressure and manage competing priorities
