Executive Director - Data Governance
Overview:
We are seeking a senior leader to define and scale enterprise-wide data management and governance practices. This role is responsible for establishing standards, frameworks, and operating models that improve how data is leveraged.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and implement enterprise-wide data management standards
- Buildout and improve data governance framework
- Define accountability models for data ownership
- Align stakeholders across a highly matrixed organization
- Embed governance practices into engineering and product workflows
- Standardize processes across data life cycle
- Improve data usability, quality, and trust across the organization
- Partner cross-functionally to meet regulatory expectations
- Implement data controls and governance mechanisms that scale
- Support audit readiness and continuous improvement of governance practices
- Establish KPIs, dashboards, and metrics
- Provide actionable insights to leadership on data risk and priorities
Requirements:
- 8-10+ years in data governance, data management, or related disciplines
- Experience building enterprise data frameworks and governance programs
- Strong cross-functional leadership (engineering, product, business)
- Knowledge of regulatory environments and data policies
- Strong communication, influence, and program leadership skills
