Director, Project Finance
An international investment bank is seeking a Credit Risk Officer (Director level) to join its North America Credit Risk team. This role centers on Corporate and Structured Finance, with a strong emphasis on Infrastructure and Project Finance transactions across the Americas. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating complex credit exposures, supporting origination efforts, and contributing to portfolio oversight in sectors such as renewable energy, digital infrastructure, and transportation.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed credit opinions and financial analyses for new transactions and ongoing portfolio reviews, with a focus on non-recourse and asset-based lending structures.
- Build deep knowledge of infrastructure sectors including renewables (wind, solar, gas-fired), data centers, and transportation assets, as well as broader corporate credit exposures.
- Oversee a designated portfolio, producing Annual Reviews, Quarterly Reviews, Watchlist Reports, and assessments of Amendments, Waivers, and covenant compliance.
- Identify and escalate credit events, covenant breaches, and industry-level risks. Contribute to internal credit alert systems and management reporting.
- Partner closely with Front Office Origination, Workout, Portfolio Management, Loan Review, and Credit Surveillance teams to ensure holistic risk coverage.
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years in credit risk, portfolio management, or front office roles within banking, insurance, or corporate finance. Strong background in Infrastructure & Project Finance is essential.
- Proficiency in cash flow modeling, credit analysis, and transaction structuring. Solid command of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Demonstrated expertise in renewable/thermal energy, digital infrastructure, transportation, and non-recourse lending.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to assess complex transactions, and a proactive approach to risk identification and mitigation.
