Position: Corporate Accountant
Location: Charlotte, NC (Uptown Office)
Reports To: Controller
We're looking for a detail-driven and analytical Corporate Accountant to join our finance team. In this role, you'll be instrumental in preparing financial reports, managing consolidation processes, conducting technical accounting research, and upholding robust internal controls. A solid grasp of U.S. GAAP and corporate finance operations is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Consolidation
- Contribute to the creation of consolidated financial statements in line with U.S. GAAP standards.
- Deliver accurate and timely financial data to the parent company.
- Support monthly and annual close activities, including intercompany eliminations and consolidation entries.
- Collaborate with subsidiary teams to ensure alignment in accounting practices and reporting standards.
Technical Accounting & Compliance
- Investigate and interpret complex accounting matters to ensure adherence to U.S. GAAP and regulatory guidelines.
- Advise on accounting policy decisions and the adoption of new standards.
- Draft technical memos and white papers to document accounting positions.
Audit & Internal Controls
- Act as a primary contact for external auditors and help facilitate a smooth audit process.
- Strengthen internal financial controls and promote best practices for accuracy and compliance.
- Partner with internal teams to enhance governance and risk management procedures.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline (CPA preferred).
- At least 3 years of relevant experience, ideally in a large corporation or public accounting (Big 4 experience is a plus).
- Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial consolidation, and technical accounting.
- Skilled in Microsoft Excel and familiar with financial systems like OneStream.
- Strong communicator with the ability to work effectively across departments.
