Accounting Assistant Manager

Our client is a well‑established international services firm with a presence in Singapore. As the business continues to strengthen its finance function locally, they are hiring an Assistant Accounting Manager to oversee full‑spectrum accounting operations and support financial reporting and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities for the Assistant Accounting Manager:

  • Manage the full month‑end closing process and ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements
  • Maintain full sets of accounts, including general ledger entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
  • Handle Singapore tax and statutory requirements, including GST filings, corporate tax, and regulatory submissions
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, banks, and corporate secretarial partners on accounting and compliance matters
  • Oversee payroll processing and ensure timely and accurate statutory contributions and filings
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management to enhance financial planning and visibility
  • Assist in quarterly consolidation and year‑end closing activities, including audit preparation
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and company policies
  • Prepare management reports and perform financial analysis to support business decision‑making
  • Review and improve accounting processes and internal controls to drive efficiency and accuracy
  • Supervise and provide guidance to a junior accounts team member

Requirements for the Assistant Accounting Manager:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
  • Approximately 5+ years of experience handling full sets of accounts and month‑end close
  • Hands‑on experience with Singapore tax compliance, including GST and statutory reporting
  • Strong understanding of accounting standards such as IFRS or GAAP
  • Experience liaising with auditors and managing year‑end audit processes
  • Exposure to payroll processing and statutory contributions is preferred
  • Prior experience in a lean team or standalone accounting role is advantageous
  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP is a plus
  • Detail‑oriented, organised, and comfortable working in a hands‑on environment
  • Able to operate independently while collaborating effectively with stakeholders
  • Strong communication skills
