Job Title: Accountant II

Company Summary: We are partnered with one of the largest independent construction groups globally, operating in 170 countries with expertise in construction, civil engineering, road equipment, and energy services looking to add an Accountant II to their team here in Charlotte, NC. You will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, and supporting internal and external audits. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently within a collaborative team environment.
Accountant II Responsibilities:
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure accuracy of financial data.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, cash flow reports).
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Support internal controls and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with internal departments and external auditors during audits.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for cost savings.
- Assist in the preparation of tax filings and other statutory reports.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives and system upgrades
Accountant II Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 2+ years of relevant Accounting experience.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems).
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with data analysis tools.
- CPA or progress toward certification is a plus.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
