Sr. Staff Actuary
A highly respected health organization is seeking a Senior Staff Actuary to join its actuarial leadership team. This fully remote role offers the opportunity to shape pricing strategy, lead regulatory filings, and guide actuarial staff across a diverse portfolio of health insurance products, including ACA, Medicare, Medicaid, Large Group, and SSP. As a Senior Staff Actuary, you'll collaborate closely with senior leaders in Product, Finance, and Risk Adjustment to evaluate financial performance, identify cost drivers, and develop innovative pricing solutions. You'll also oversee the development and submission of premium rates and expected costs to regulatory bodies such as CMS and state departments of health. In addition to technical leadership, you'll mentor and manage a team of actuaries, helping them grow while ensuring high-quality analytic support across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead pricing, reserving, and trend analysis across multiple lines of business
- Manage and develop actuarial staff, providing strategic and technical guidance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve product performance
- Oversee regulatory filings and ensure compliance with federal and state requirements
Qualifications:
- ASA & MAAA required; FSA preferred
- 10+ years of actuarial experience, including 5+ in health insurance
- 1+ year of management or team leadership experience
- Strong understanding of actuarial principles, reimbursement methodologies, and regulatory frameworks
- Excellent communication skills and proficiency in Excel, Access, and data automation tools
