Senior Vice President, Actuary
A nationally scaled, high-growth healthcare organization is seeking a Senior Vice President, Actuary to lead enterprise-wide actuarial and financial strategy across a technology-enabled care management platform. This executive will play a critical role in shaping how value-based care is priced, measured, governed, and scaled, with direct influence on growth strategy, client partnerships, and long-term financial sustainability.
As SVP, you will serve as the most senior actuarial leader in the organization, responsible for driving pricing strategy, financial risk management, forecasting, and performance analytics across complex value-based arrangements. You will partner closely with executive leadership, commercial teams, and clinical stakeholders to optimize program performance and inform enterprise decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary actuarial advisor to executive leadership and the Board on pricing, risk, capital strategy, and enterprise financial outlook
- Own and evolve pricing and underwriting strategy, including governance, controls, and executive-level sales and client support
- Provide deep analytical leadership across:
- Medical economics and experience studies
- Claims trend and reserving analysis
- Profitability and performance analytics
- Predictive modeling and risk adjustment
- Lead financial reconciliation for value-based care contracts, including eligibility, revenue, and claims performance
- Independently develop complex actuarial and financial analyses to guide internal and external decision-making
- Establish best-in-class actuarial governance, modeling standards, documentation practices, and quality controls
Must Haves
- 15+ years of progressive actuarial leadership experience with deep expertise in pricing, reserving, and financial risk.
- Prior experience supporting value-based care, provider partnerships, and/or payer contracting
- FSA designation required
- Strong executive presence with the ability to communicate complex financial concepts to senior leaders, clients, and boards
- Proven success in client-facing, growth-oriented environments
- Strategic thinker with hands-on analytical credibility and a business-first mindset
