Senior Software Engineer - Enterprise Risk Management
One of the most well-regarded global hedge funds is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its Enterprise Risk Management engineering team in New York. This newly formed team is building control frameworks that safeguard trading and technology operations-covering trading controls, SDLC governance, and operational risk management (including disaster recovery).
The role is critical to designing and implementing alerting systems, monitoring tools, and risk metrics that will become the backbone of the firm's risk discipline. You will work in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment, partnering with risk, operations, and engineering teams to ensure resilience across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop risk control frameworks for trading and technology operations.
- Build scalable alerting systems, monitoring tools, and dashboards for enterprise risk.
- Implement distributed systems and data pipelines feeding real-time risk metrics into web applications.
- Collaborate with risk and operations teams to align technology with governance objectives.
- Contribute to technical strategy and drive innovation in operational risk technology.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in software development.
- Strong Python and React skills for full-stack engineering.
- Expertise in distributed systems, scalable workflows, and data integration.
- Ability to partner with risk and operations teams and communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
Preferred
- Experience in financial services, risk management, or operational resilience.
- Knowledge of data pipelines, monitoring frameworks, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Exposure to enterprise governance and SDLC controls.
