About the Company
A well‑established national insurance brokerage with a strong, long‑term market presence is seeking a Senior Accountant to join the corporate accounting team. The organization operates across multiple states, continues to expand through acquisition and organic growth, and maintains a stable, mature business foundation. Reports directly to an Accounting Manager or senior accounting leadership, depending on experience
The Senior Accounting will be joining the corporate accounting team - no statutory insurance accounting or insurance‑specific reporting is required.
About the Role
The Senior Accountant will play a key role in supporting the corporate close process, financial reporting activities, and ongoing accounting operations. This position is ideal for someone with a strong GAAP and technical accounting foundation looking to advance within a complex, large‑scale organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual corporate accounting close
- Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting schedules
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting in accordance with US GAAP
- Partner with finance and operations to maintain financial integrity
- Contribute to process improvements as the organization continues to scale
- Participate in special projects, integrations, and ad‑hoc initiatives
Qualifications
- Approximately 5-10 years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong preference for individuals with public accounting experience
- Experience from a Top 15 firm is highly valued
- Public company experience is also a strong alternative
- Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles
- Exposure to SOX controls or SEC reporting environments is a plus (not part of the day‑to‑day job)
- Highly analytical, detail‑oriented, and able to thrive in a dynamic corporate setting
- Team‑focused with the ability to work in a collaborative, fast‑moving department
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: $90,000 - $130,000
- Bonus: 10-15%
