Head of Legal - EMEA (m/f/d)

Location: Munich, Germany

We are seeking an experienced and strategic legal leader to join our European headquarters in Munich. As part of our expansion into Europe, we are building a leadership team with a strong foundation in the healthcare industry. The Head of Legal will play a critical role in establishing and guiding our legal operations across the region.

Our European entity will play a central role in our R&D and manufacturing business model.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the legal function across Europe, ensuring compliance with German law and other relevant regional regulations.
  • Serve as the primary legal advisor for the European business, supporting strategic decisions and operational execution.
  • Collaborate with global legal teams to align policies and practices.
  • Provide hands-on legal support in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Advise on cross-border legal matters and ensure compliance with both local and international legal frameworks.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in the healthcare industry, with deep understanding of its regulatory and operational landscape.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to operate strategically and tactically.
  • In-depth knowledge of German policies and regulations; familiarity with other European legal frameworks is highly desirable.
  • Qualified to practice law in a European jurisdiction; qualification in Germany or Switzerland is a strong plus.
  • CDMO and/or R&D experience in a pharmaceutical company is highly desired.
  • Hands-on approach with a startup mentality; comfortable working in a fast-growing, evolving environment.
  • Fluent in English and German; other languages are a plus.
  • Minimum of 15 years of professional experience, with leadership roles in legal functions.
