Position Overview:

This role sits within an Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) team, located in Greenwich, CT. The team's primary goal is to support long-term capital returns by managing risk effectively across insurance, investment, credit, and operational areas. As a key member of this team, you'll contribute to projects involving casualty accumulation analysis, catastrophe modeling, and monitoring emerging risks. This role involves working closely with senior leaders across business units and corporate functions. While actuarial credentials are a plus, they are not mandatory.


Key Responsibilities:

Casualty Risk Analysis:

  • Lead the design and improvement of processes for handling casualty data.

  • Analyze exposure concentrations across insureds, industry sectors, and product lines to deliver insights to leadership.

  • Create hypothetical casualty catastrophe scenarios using insights from past events and future risk trends.

  • Model complex reinsurance structures related to casualty lines.

Emerging Risk Research:

  • Investigate and evaluate emerging threats-such as artificial intelligence and climate change-and their potential impact on insurance products.

  • Support tracking and analysis of less predictable, high-impact risks.

Strategic and Operational Leadership:

  • Spearhead automation efforts for core risk-related processes.

  • Contribute to routine ERM reporting efforts, including presentations for senior leadership, board committees, regulators, and rating agencies.

  • Provide guidance and mentoring to junior team members.


Qualifications:

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proficient in R or Python and experienced with Microsoft Excel.

  • Strong written and spoken communication abilities.

  • Highly organized with strong multitasking capabilities.

  • Able to conduct independent research on a broad range of risk-related topics.

  • Familiar with casualty insurance lines such as general liability and professional liability.

  • Minimum of 5 years' relevant experience; 10+ years preferred.
