Location: Detroit, MI
An established global automotive supplier is seeking a Corporate Development Manager to join its headquarters team. This role reports directly to the Chief Legal Officer and works closely with the Chief Financial Officer, Chief Transformation & Strategy Officer, and the Executive Leadership Team. The position offers significant exposure to senior business leaders across all functional areas and plays a critical role in shaping the organization's corporate development strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with teams across all functional areas to drive strategic initiatives.
- Lead execution of growth strategies, including strategic partnerships and M&A transactions (buy-side and sell-side), encompassing due diligence, financial evaluation, valuation analysis, business case development, integration planning, and negotiation of key documents.
- Manage cross-functional due diligence teams with a hands-on, team-oriented approach.
- Oversee transaction processes including structuring, negotiations, and closing.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders during deal execution.
- Support post-merger integration and ensure smooth hand-off to integration teams.
- Analyze pro forma implications of strategic partnerships and M&A transactions on growth trajectory, business mix, and margins.
- Develop playbooks and best practices for transactions.
- Ensure compliance with corporate strategies and industry regulations.
- Assist with investor relations activities and other strategic projects as needed.
- Evaluate capital allocation decisions alongside senior leadership and investors.
- Monitor macro trends, track competitor strategies, and provide insights to inform organizational strategy.
Qualifications
- Exposure to the Automotive space is a plus but not required
- 5-10 years of relevant experience in corporate development, strategy, project management, investment banking, transaction advisory services, or other related experience.
- Strong understanding of core business functions (Legal, Finance, Marketing, HR).
- Advanced financial analysis and forecasting skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, databases, and financial software applications.
- Exceptional organizational and leadership abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage complex projects and prioritize effectively.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field; MBA preferred.
