Job Opportunity: Corporate Development and Reinsurance Specialist

About the Role: Join a dynamic Corporate Development and Flow Reinsurance teams, where the goal is to drive company growth through strategic analysis, execution, and management of reinsurance transactions. The company seeking a highly skilled professional with a deep understanding of insurance liabilities, extensive transaction management experience, and strong quantitative, project management, and communication skills. This role is pivotal in supporting the global development, execution, and management of reinsurance transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support all phases of the transaction process, from initial target identification to bidding, structuring, contract negotiation, closing, and post-closing activities.
  • Develop transaction models and assumptions.
  • Manage relationships with third-party reinsurance clients, discussing industry trends, new and existing products, rate setting strategies, and business opportunities.
  • Prepare internal deal documents and materials for management approval.
  • Create and present materials for various audiences, including senior management and the Board of Directors.
  • Oversee projects, collaborate with other business units, and maintain third-party business relationships.
  • Analyze due diligence materials, including actuarial appraisals, confidential information memoranda, policy forms, product specifications, and insurance liability cash flows.
  • Document internal controls, develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance the transaction review process and overall quality of deliverables.
  • Research and summarize actuarial concepts, regulations, and industry trends that could impact deal valuation.
  • Collaborate with peers and mentor less experienced staff.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all dealings.
  • Some travel required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in the insurance sector, investment banking, or financial services, with significant experience in the financial services/insurance industry.
  • Experience with financial analysis of annuities and/or life insurance.
  • Professional actuarial designation preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
  • Excellent collaboration skills with broader organizational leadership.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • In-depth understanding of global accounting and regulatory regimes.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to organize and manage large projects.
  • Commitment to completing tasks thoroughly and on time, even under pressure and outside normal working hours.
  • Ability to see the big picture, understand broad corporate impacts, and focus on company objectives.
  • Ability to interact effectively with executive management, directors, and counterparty management.
