China Equity Analyst

We are seeking a highly motivated and intellectually curious China Equity Analyst to join our client's Fundamental Equity Investment Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting deep-dive fundamental research on Chinese companies across various sectors, generating actionable investment ideas, and contributing to portfolio construction and risk management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth bottom-up fundamental research on Chinese equities, including financial modeling, valuation, and industry analysis.
  • Develop and maintain detailed financial models and investment theses for coverage companies.
  • Monitor and analyze macroeconomic, regulatory, and geopolitical developments impacting Chinese markets.
  • Engage with company management, industry experts, and sell-side analysts to gather insights and validate investment views.
  • Present investment ideas and updates to the investment committee and portfolio managers.
  • Collaborate with global sector analysts and portfolio managers to identify cross-border investment opportunities.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of ESG factors relevant to Chinese companies and integrate them into the investment process.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field; CFA designation or progress toward it is a plus.
  • 3-7 years of experience in equity research, investment banking, asset management, or consulting, with a focus on China.
  • Strong understanding of Chinese financial statements, regulatory environment, and corporate governance.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain robust financial models and perform valuation using DCF, comparables, and other methods.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Mandarin.
  • Self-starter with strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Sector expertise in Consumer, Technology, Healthcare, or Industrials.
  • Experience working with A-shares, H-shares, and ADRs.
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg, Wind, FactSet, or similar financial tools.
