Overview

Our client, a leading financial institution is expanding its Emerging Markets and High Yield trading team with a strategic growth hire. The desk is already well-established and highly regarded across the EM and HY space, and is now looking to add a dynamic, entrepreneurial credit trader with experience in CEEMEA hard currency markets.

This is a multi-dimensional role that goes beyond execution. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to desk marketing, client engagement, and risk management, while also providing market colour and trade ideas to sales and clients.


Key Responsibilities

  • Trade CEEMEA hard currency credit across sovereigns, corporates, and financials.
  • Generate and pitch trade ideas to internal stakeholders and external clients.
  • Provide market colour and insights to sales teams and institutional clients.
  • Manage and hedge risk exposure across trading positions.
  • Build and maintain relationships with buy-side clients and counterparties.
  • Support new issue allocations and secondary market liquidity.
  • Collaborate with research, sales, and structuring to enhance product offering.

Candidate Profile

  • 2-7 years of experience trading Emerging Market credit, ideally with CEEMEA coverage.
  • Strong understanding of hard currency bonds, credit curves, and EM macro dynamics.
  • Proven ability to engage clients, market a desk, and generate ideas.
  • Experience with risk management and position monitoring.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a desire to build and grow within a team.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Familiarity with trading platforms (e.g., Bloomberg, MarketAxess, Tradeweb).
