Compensation: $165,300 - $220,400 base + up to 20% annual incentive

Position Overview
The Vice President of Special Assets will lead Loss Mitigation and Asset Recovery functions, driving performance and transformation during a significant growth phase. This role is critical in building strategies to minimize losses across mortgage, consumer, and small business loan portfolios while ensuring compliance and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee Special Assets team, including Loss Mitigation and Asset Recovery departments.
  • Develop and implement strategies to reduce delinquency and improve recovery outcomes.
  • Drive organizational transformation and implement technologies to reduce administrative burden.
  • Manage and scale teams, including hiring and on boarding additional Loss Mitigation representatives.
  • Collaborate closely with senior leadership, including the Chief Risk Officer and VP of Risk.
  • Monitor collections metrics, analyze portfolio performance, and present executive-level reports.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third-party vendors, collection agencies, and legal counsel.


Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Extensive experience in financial services, with expertise in collections, foreclosures, and mortgage workouts.
  • Proven leadership in managing large teams and driving continuous improvement.
  • Strong knowledge of consumer lending, SBA financing, and regulatory compliance (FDCPA, SCRA).
  • Skilled in negotiation, conflict resolution, and strategic planning.
  • Comfortable in a feedback-driven, high-performance culture.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 12 years in collections, asset recovery, or related leadership roles.
  • Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and P&L management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with digital communication tools.
