We Are Seeking: Trading Systems Reliability Engineer (C++)
We are seeking pragmatic and commercially-minded engineers who combine strong technical troubleshooting skills with solid C++ development experience.
This role sits at the intersection of software engineering, production reliability, and trading infrastructure, helping ensure critical systems remain reliable, performant, and scalable in a fast-moving production environment.
Experience working within buy-side firms, hedge funds, proprietary trading firms, or other performance-sensitive environments is highly valued.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain reliable and scalable production systems
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimise system performance
- Partner with development teams to improve platform reliability and operability
- Develop automation and tooling to streamline operational workflows
- Support production environments and investigate complex technical issues
- Contribute to platform stability, security, and operational best practices
- Provide technical guidance and support across engineering teams
Requirements
- Experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Production Engineering, Systems Engineering or similar roles
- Strong C++ development experience
- Solid understanding of systems architecture and distributed environments
- Experience troubleshooting production systems in live environments
- Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and observability platforms
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
- Commercial mindset with a focus on reliability and business outcomes
Highly Relevant Experience
- Buy-side, hedge fund, or proprietary trading environments
- Low-latency order entry or market data systems
- Production trading infrastructure
- Additional programming experience in Python or C#
- Performance tuning and systems optimisation
- Finance, capital markets, or trading technology environments
