Job Title: Trade Support- Cryptoassets
Location: Chicago (on-site)
Salary: $90k - $135k + bonus
Summary:
This is a unique opportunity to join Chicago-based Operations team at a top Proprietary trading firm, where you'll play a key role in managing the daily workflows of a fast-paced cryptoasset trading business. You'll collaborate with internal teams and external counterparties to ensure efficient trade settlements and continuously improve operational procedures. Ideal candidates will have experience in trading or settlement operations, working knowledge of Python coding, and exposure to cryptoassets or agriculture-related products. You'll be expected to analyze complex challenges, identify scalable solutions, and contribute to the performance and resilience of a 24/7 trading environment.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Provide operational support for the cryptoasset trading business, with a focus on optimizing reconciliation and post-trade settlement processes.
- Monitor pending settlements and coordinate with counterparties and exchanges to minimize settlement risk.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including cash management and operations, to ensure sufficient cash reserves for trade settlements and platform funding.
- Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement, automation, and technology upgrades.
- Apply working knowledge of Python to automate operational workflows and analyze large datasets. Must be comfortable coding in Python.
- Respond promptly to counterparty inquiries and provide accurate settlement information.
- Offer administrative support to the operations team as needed.
- Leverage prior exposure to cryptoassets or agriculture-related financial products to enhance operational insight and decision-making.
- Prior experience in trade reconciliation and settlements; exposure to cryptoassets or agriculture markets is highly preferred.
- Willingness to provide support during off-hours to maintain continuity in a 24/7 trading environment.
The ideal candidate should have the following qualifications and skills:
- Familiarity with banking platforms and money transfers, with an understanding of cost-effective overnight funding strategies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Bachelor's degree required.
